Welcome to the official website of Southern Wisconsin Sandhouse Crew! The Sandhouse crew is an HO Scale model railroad club with it's membership centered in the Madison, Wisconsin area. The club formed in 2005 with the idea of being a modular railroad group. We have no permanent layout, but instead put together a portable layout made up of member- and club-owned modules. These modules can be configured in a variety of ways to make up layouts that we display at local train shows.

Best of Show!

At the February 2015 Mad City Model Railroad Show and Sale the SWSC took home the "Best of Show" award for the layout! This is our third Best of Show award in the 10 years that we have been displaying the layout at the Mad City show.

The Crew's Next Appearances
January 13th & 14th, 2024 - Sun Prairie, WI: Sun Prairie Library

The Sandhouse Crew will once again in 2024 set up a small version of our layout for a weekend event at the Sun Prairie Library, 1350 Linnerud Drive. The exhibition is free and open to the public during library hours from 9:30-4:45 on Saturday and 1:30 to 4:30 on Sunday. More information is available at the Library's website here.

Feburary 17th & 18th, 2024 - Madison, WI: Mad City Model Railroad Show and Sale

The Sandhouse Crew will be an exhibitor at to the annual Mad City Model Railroad Show at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, WI. Come check out the SWSC layout along with a wide variety of other exhibitors and vendors as we set up our layout for the 19th time at this show! .
